12pm - 2pm:
Open Auditions for two boys between the ages of 10 - 15 years old who are 5’ 4” and under, with the ability to listen carefully and follow directions to play the non-singing role of Nathan in The Full Monty. Professional theatre experience is helpful but not mandatory. Please note that The Full Monty contains adult content, language and situations.

*Selected children will need to be available for all daytime rehearsals from July 20 – August 1 and

                          all day and evening rehearsals and performances from August 2 – August 29, 2010

Non-AEA member DO NOT NEED AN APPOINTMENT.  All Non Union actors will be seen on a first come first serve basis.  Those attending the singers call should be prepared to sing two contrasting 16-bar selections appropriate for the season. Actors may be asked to dance after they have sung, please bring appropriate dance attire.   Dancers attending the Dancer call should be prepared to sing if asked, please have 2 contrasting 16 - bar selections.

Bring pix & résumés, stapled together. Producers will run all aspects of this audition. 

Actors wishing to be considered for our 2010 Intern program should follow

Seeking—Singers: male and female, 18+, all ethnicities, for all roles.  Auditions will be held March 16, 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Shetler Studios, 244 W. 54th Street 12th floor, Room #P1, NYC. Sign-up begins at 1:30 pm. Singers may be called back to dance on Wednesday; additional callbacks will be held March 18 & 19 if necessary. Seeking—Dancers: male and female, 18+, all ethnicities, for all roles.  Auditions will be held March 17 at 10 am (males) & 2 pm (females) at Shetler Studios, 244 W. 54th Street, 12th floor, Room #P1, NYC. Callbacks will be held March 18 & 19 if necessary. Be warmed up and ready to dance promptly at call time. Bring sheet music in case you are asked to sing. Bring pix & résumés, stapled together. Producers will run all aspects of the audition.

Bebe Benzenheimer: Female. Alto. Insecure about her looks, just wants to be liked.

Bobby Mills: Male. Baritone. Flamboyant, funny, bitchy and witty.
Cassie Ferguson: Female. Soprano. Older, very strong dancer.  Previously had a relationship with Zach.
Connie Wong: Female. Alto. SHORT. A bit of a mother hen with a great sense of humor.
Diana Morales: Female. Alto. Streetwise, a little bit tough, eternal optimist and starry eyed.
Don Kerr: Male. Baritone. Ladies man. Married. Into cars, money and women.
Gregory Gardner: Male. Baritone. Very gay, very East Side New York.
Judy Turner: Female. Mezzo. Funny, gawky, nervous, scatterbrain. Warm & hopeful.
Kristine Urich: Female. Mezzo. Wide-eyed, naïve. Very nervous when not dancing.
Maggie Winslow: Female. Soprano. A sweetheart, little sister type. Dreamer.
Mark Anthony: Male. Tenor. Optimistic, All-American kid. Hopeful and fresh. Very Young.
Mike Costa: Male. Tenor. Quite aggressive, determined, cocky, sure of himself BUT likeable.
Paul San Marco: Male. Baritone. Introverted and slightly insecure but loves performing.
Richie Walters: Male. Tenor. African-American, strong dancer, enthusiastic, cool and very funny.
Shelia Bryant: Female. Alto. Brassy, sexy, bitchy and sophisticated.
Valerie Clark: Female. Mezzo. Funny and foul-mouthed. A brazen, direct, attention seeker.

Dolly Levi: 35-50. Female. Alto. A nosy matchmaker who decides that she wants to marry Horace Vandergelder.

Horace Vandergelder: 40-60. Male. Baritone. A well known, widowed, stingy half-millionaire looking for a new wife.
Cornelius Hackl:
Late 20’s. Male. Baritone. The timid head clerk at Horace’s Hay and Feed store.

Barnaby Tucker: 20’s. Male. Baritone.  Cornelius’s extremely timid assistant at Horace’s Hay and Feed store.
Mrs. Irene Molloy: Late 20’s. Female. Mezzo-Soprano.  An attractive widow who owns a hat shop.
Minnie Fay: 20’s. Female. Mezzo-Soprano. Mrs. Molloy’s assistant.
Ambrose: A struggling artist in love with Ermengarde.

Ermengarde: Horace’s young niece.
Rudolph: The head waiter of the Harmonia Gardens.

Mrs. Rose: A childhood friend of Dolly’s.

Ernestina: Heiress to a large fortune whom Dolly tries to match with Horace.

Seymour: Male. Tenor. Insecure and naive, florist’s clerk. Sweet and well-meaning, unsuspecting hero loved by all.

Audrey: Female. Mezzo-Soprano. A sweet and vulnerable bleached blonde florist. Struggles with self- worth but has a heart of gold.

Mr. Mushnik: Male. Baritone. A very cranky but honorable florist shop owner. Hard working, Eastern European.

Orin: Male. Baritone. Handsome dentist with sadistic tendencies. He is NOT however, a leftover from the movie Grease. An egotistical “insurance salesman” like a radio announcer. The actor plays several parts.
The Plant (Audrey II):

Actor 1: the voice  Male. Baritone. The voice is provided by the actor on an offstage microphone.  The sound is a cross between Otis Redding, Barry white and Wolfman Jack.

Actor 2: the puppeteer. Actor should be fit and willing to be inside a tight enclosure.
Crystal, Ronette & Chiffon: Ranges between Soprano, Mezzo and Alto. Three female urchins who function as a Greek Chorus. They are young, hip, smart and the only people in the whole cast who REALLY know what’s going on.

 

 

   
     

Jerry Lukowski: 30’s-40’s. Male. High Baritone/Tenor with strong falsetto. Unemployed mill worker. Good heart, smart aleck. Single father on the verge of losing custody of his son.

Dave Bukatinsky: 30’s-40’s. Male. Tenor with strong falsetto. Overweight unemployed mill worker. Struggles to lose weight and keep his marriage together. Jerry’s best friend.

Georgie Bukatinsky: 30’s-40’s. Female. Alto with Belt. Dave’s wife. Big, brassy, fun loving. Has a sensitive side.

Malcolm MacGregor: 30’-40’s. Male. Tenor, needs strong falsetto. Unemployed mill worker. Slight, shy, insecure, wallflower.  Lives with his mother.

Harold Nichols: 40’-50’s. Male. High Baritone/Tenor. Unemployed supervisor at the mill. Somewhat pompous, all business. Confident; tough as nails exterior is a front for inner insecurities.

Vicki Nichols: 30’s-50’s. Female. High Belt. Extremely bubbly. Somewhat brash. Funny and confident. Good comic timing.

Noah “Horse” T. Simmons: 50’s-60’s. Male. Bari-Tenor. African American retired mill worker. No non-sense guy who can move extremely well.

Ethan Girard: 20’s-30’s. Male. Baritone/Tenor. Unemployed mill worker. Upbeat and loveable. Athletic, obsessed with running up walls like Donald O’Connor in Singing in the Rain. Marches to the beat of his own drummer.

Jenanette Burmeister: 50’s-60’s. Female. Comedic singer. Piano player of indeterminate years.

Nathan Lukowski: (11-14) Jerry's young son. Typical kid. Struggles with parents’ divorce. (non-singing role)
Pam Lukowski: (30s-40) Jerry's estranged wife. Smart. Strong belt.
Teddy Slaughter: (35-50) Pam's Live-in boyfriend. Good looking. (non-singing role)
Buddy “Keno” Walsh: (20's-30s) Very handsome and buff male stripper. Must move well. (non-singing role).
Estelle Genovese: (25-35) Jerry's occasional girlfriend. 2nd or 1st soprano.
Tony Giordano: (35-55) A Buffalo nightclub owner.
Susan Hershey: (30s-40) Friend of Pam & Georgie. 2nd or 1st soprano.
Joanie Lish: (30s-40) Another friend of Pam & Georgie. Alto/2nd soprano.
Reg Willoughby: (30s-50) Unemployed mill worker.
