Theatre By The Sea proudly announces the return of an all-new edition of ABROADWAY CELEBRATIONcreated exclusively for our audience. Producer and Host New York Casting Director Stephen DeAngelis returns with five of Broadway's finest vocalists who will recreate some of their most memorable and favorite musical moments as they celebrate the spectrum from classic to contemporary Broadway. The concert will allow the performers to display their great talents and versatility, share backstage behind-the-scenes anecdotes and conduct an enlightening and entertaining question and answer session with the audience. Scheduled performers are Major Attaway (starred as The Genie in Aladdin more than any other performer), Robert Creighton (currently Duke of Weselton in Frozen; The Mystery of EdwinDrood (Durdles); Anything Goes (Moonface); The Lion King (Timon); The LittleMermaid (Chef Louis); Chicago (Amos); Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Jackie Mason’s Laughing Room Only), Lana Gordon (Velma Kelly in Chicago; The Lion King (Shenzi); Jesus Christ Superstar), Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Anika Larsen (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Cynthia Weil); Avenue Q (Kate Monster/Lucy T. Slut); Xanadu; All Shook Up; RENT) and Carrie St. Louis (Glinda in Wicked; Kinky Boots (Lauren); Rock of Ages (Sherrie). Musical Director/Accompanist will once again be Jon Balcourt (Dear Evan Hanson; The Book of Mormon). The evening will feature songs from Wicked; Chicago; Aladdin; Kinky Boots; Guys and Dolls; Beautiful: The Carole King Musical; Legally Blonde; RENT; Anything Goes; Avenue Q; Funny Girl; Ragtime: The Light in thePiazza; The Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess: Xanadu; George M! and more!!!. Harvey Robbins' Doo-Wopp Hall of Fame of America 20th Anniversary Gala Concert July 13, 2020 at 7:30pm
The Doo-Wopp Hall of Fame of America gala concert features Hall of Fame inductees Shirley Reeves (original lead singer of The Shirelles) and The Limelites. Theatre By The Sea’s audience will turn back the hands of time to that special era of the 1950’s and ‘60’s with two of the most famous groups to ever record.
Shirley Reeves (the original lead singer of The Shirelles) is considered the all-time premier female singer in Doo-Wopp history. Her incredible lead vocals are heard in the classic hits, such as “Will You Love Me Tomorrow,” “Soldier Boy,” “Mama Said,” “Foolish Little Girl,” “Everybody Loves A Lover,” “Tonight’s The Night,” and “Boys” which was covered by The Beatles.
The Limelites are a hallmark of New York Doo-Wopp. Their classic “Daddy’s Home” is among the most beloved Doo-Wopp songs ever recorded. The group also scored hits with “Our Anniversary” and “Three Steps To The Altar”.
LIZ CALLAWAY in Concert August 3, 2020 at 7:30pm
Liz Callaway is a Tony® nominee and Emmy® Award-winning actress, singer and recording artist. She made her Broadway debut in Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, received a Tony® Award nomination for her performance in Baby, and for five years, won acclaim as Grizabella in Cats. She is also known for having provided the singing voices of many female characters in animated films, such as Anastasia (Anya/Anastasia), The Swan Princess (Odette), Disney’s Aladdin sequels (Jasmine), and many more.
NICOLAS KING - Shakin' The Blues Away! August 10, 2020 at 7:30pm
Performing professionally since he was four years old, Rhode Island's own Nicolas King brings us Shakin' The Blues Away, a collection of "feel good" songs from the worlds of Jazz, Pop and Broadway. Nicolas has appeared in three Broadway productions (Beauty & The Beast, A Thousand Clowns, Hollywood Arms) before the age of 12, has appeared on numerous TV talk shows including The View, The Today Show and The Tonight Show, and has performed alongside his mentor, the legendary Liza Minnelli as her opening act from 2002-2012. With songs like Goody Goody, I Wanna Be Around, Pick Yourself Up, and others, these days Nicolas King is the king of swing!

Children of all ages are welcome at our one-hour-long Children's Festival productions, however, everyone age 2 and abovemust have a ticket to enter the theatre, sit in a seat, and be able to sit quietly through the entire performance.
Not all programming is appropriate for all ages. All musicals have a content advisory and a full synopsis on their individual pages on the website. Please feel free to contact the Box Office with any question regarding the content of the show. Although opinions on appropriate viewing may differ, we will do our best to answer your questions regarding language, violence, and adult situations.
