VOLUNTEER USHERS
Theatre By The Sea is looking for volunteers to be part of their ushering team for the 2022 season. Ushers will have the opportunity to see the show as seating allows. Also looking for head ushers for the Children's Series on select Wednesday and Friday mornings. Dress code of white top (no tee shirts) and black pants/skirts. Below is the list of open positions for this season. This list will be updated as time goes on, so check back frequently! Audio Engineer This position will be responsible for coordinating and leading the install, run, and removal of all Audio elements for each of the four shows in our 2022 summer season, along with providing Audio support for our Summer Children's Series. They will work with the Sound Designer to select, order, prep, receive, and install the Audio package for the season, including supplemental packages for each show. They will be responsible for the maintenance of the Audio package throughout the season. Candidates should have experience and skills in the following areas: theatrical sound systems, sound board operation, wireless mic systems and operation, speaker and rack maintenance, budget management, safe theatre practices, safe electrical practices. All candidates should be dedicated to maintaining a safe, positive, productive, collaborative, and friendly work environment. Local applicants are preferred, but all applications will be considered. The starting wage for this position is $700/week. The ideal contract is for approximately 13 weeks, running from 6/19/22-9/18/22, but shorter contracts will be considered. Assistant Costume Shop Manager This position will assist the Costume Shop Manager with running the day-to-day activities of the Costume Shop. They will help with the organization of labor, duties, supplies, and logistics of Costume packages for each of the four shows of the season, including three rental packages. They will help facilitate the hand off to the Wardrobe team for the run of each show and assist with repairs when necessary. They will also help with the return of Costume rental packages at the end of each run. Candidates should have experience and skills in the following areas: Costume Shop supervision and logistics, stitching, dying, budget management, and safe theatre practices. All candidates should be dedicated to maintaining a safe, positive, productive, collaborative, and friendly work environment. Local applicants are preferred, but all applications will be considered. The starting wage for this position is $550/week. The ideal contract is for approximately 17 weeks, running from 5/2/22-8/28/22, but shorter contracts will be considered. Stitchers This position will be part of the day-to-day activities of the Costume Shop. They will work with Costume Shop Management with fitting, adjusting, adapting and labeling Costume pieces for each of the four shows in the season, including three rental packages. Candidates should have familiarity with the following areas: Costume Shop organizational dynamics, stitching, dying, fitting, and safe theatre practices. All candidates should be dedicated to maintaining a safe, positive, productive, collaborative, and friendly work environment. Local applicants are preferred, but all applications will be considered. The starting wage for this position is $500/week. The ideal contract is for approximately 17 weeks, running from 5/2/22-8/28/22, but shorter contracts will be considered. Wardrobe Apprentice This position will assist the Wardrobe Supervisor with the run of all shows for the 2022 season. Responsibilities will include load in and load out of costumes to the stage, presetting, quick changes, repairs, show laundry, and cleaning and maintenance of the quick change and dressing room areas, along with costume and wardrobe support for our Children's Theatrical Summer Camp. Candidates should have some experience and familiarity with Wardrobe duties, including some show run experience at either the high school, community, or collegiate level. All candidates should be dedicated to maintaining a safe, positive, productive, collaborative, and friendly work environment. Applicants must be 18+ years of age. Local applicants are preferred, but all applications will be considered. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply. Weekly stipend is provided. Contract is for approximately 17 weeks, running from 5/20/19-9/15/19. |
