COMPANY MANAGER
Theatre by the Sea in Matunuck RI is seeking an experienced summer theatre Company Manager for the 2025 season.

Approx April 28-September 21, 2025
THIS IS A SEASONAL FULL-TIME JOB ONLY
Housing and transportation are provided
SALARY: $750.00 – $900.00 per week- Commensurate with experience

Candidate must be a hard working team player with a strong work ethic and sense of humor. Exhibit good interpersonal skills, including relating to a number of different personalities. Maintaining good relationships, employing discretion, diplomacy and tact. Seeking the positive in all situations.

• Evening and weekend work will be required. Candidate should be willing to assume other job responsibilities if called upon to do so.
• The ability to treat confidential information with discretion
• Comfortably and effectively cope with change and ambiguity including moving between tasks and timelines. The ability to make good decisions, and to stay relaxed and proactive when things are uncertain
• A valid drivers license and clean driving record is a must as is the ability to drive a 12-15 passenger van.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Artist/Staff Housing including: Getting housing ready for the season, preparing linen sets, preparing rooms and greeting artists/staff upon arrival.
  • Changing over rooms from one show to the next as needed.
  • Monitor and help with keeping company housing clean before and after the cleaning service has done their weekly cleaning.
  • Booking and purchasing actor/staff travel
  • Preparing/purchasing setting up and breaking down of changeover and tech meals for possibly up to 55 people
  • Prepare inventory of housing and first aid kits
  • Mail and package distribution
  • Assist with the Childrens Series hospitality, travel and housing.
  • Supervising and working closely with the Assistant Company Manager.
  • Petty cash reconciliation, preparing workmans comp forms and accident reports. Scheduling doctors appointments as needed and taking people to the various medical appointments
  • Drive actors to and from all rehearsals and performances.
  • Pick actors up upon arrival and for departure on travel days
  • This job requires excellent people and organizational skills, and a knowledge of theatre and basic AEA rules. Excellent computer skills required as well.
  • Company Manager will also at times work with and report to the Producer, Artistic Director, Associate, Producer, General Manager, Production Manager and Stage Mgmt to ensure that the artistic and administrative standards and policies of Theatre by the Sea are maintained.

ASSISTANT COMPANY MANAGER
Theatre by the Sea in Matunuck RI is seeking an experienced summer theatre Assistant Company Manager for the 2025 season.

SALARY:$650.00 – $700.00 per week-Commensurate with experience

  • This job requires excellent people and organizational skills, and a knowledge of theatre and basic AEA rules. Excellent computer skills required as well.
  • Assistant Company Manager along with the Company Manager will also at times work with and report to the Producer, Artistic Director, Associate Producer, General Manager, Production Manager and Stage Mgmt to ensure that the artistic and administrative standards and policies of Theatre by the Sea are maintained.
