Director: Bob Richard Choreographer: Diane Laurenson Music Director: Milton Granger First rehearsal: May 12 Open: May 29 Close: June 20 SEYMOUR KRELBORN - Character is Male, 25-35 An insecure, put-upon florist's clerk and eventual hero. He is a genuine, well-meaning man who is taken for granted because of his clumsy ways and poor social skills. Role will be understudied. AUDREY - Character is Female, 25-35 Bleached-blond, Billie-Dawn-like, secret love of Seymour's life. She has poor self-worth and education, but incredibly good looks and a sweet and vulnerable demeanor. Role will be understudied. MR. MUSHNIK - Character is Male, 55-65 The seasoned owner of the failing East Side flower shop and Seymour's nosy boss. He is profit-driven, greedy, and manipulative. Role will be understudied. ORIN SCRIVELLO – Character is Male, Age 30 to 40 An egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies. Audrey's abusive boyfriend, who is targeted by Seymour. Role will be understudied. VOICE OF THE PLANT – Any gender identity, Black, 25-55 An actor/vocalist located offstage. The voice is that of a conniving, street-smart 'villain.' A funky Rhythm and Blues voice is best. Role will be understudied. CRYSTAL/RONNETTE/CHIFFON – Any gender identity, Black, 20-35 Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon are African-American street urchins, acting as the occasional Greek Chorus. Young, hip, and smart, this trio are the only ones who have a grip on reality. Role will be understudied. ENSEMBLE – Any gender identity, 20-50 Will portray various chorus parts and understudy Principals. |

Good-looking, strong, and confident, with an air of easy-going charm. Must dance well. SANDY DUMBROWSKI – Female, 18 – 25 (to play high school teen), Any race/ethnicity, Soprano New girl in town; sweet, wholesome, naive, cute, and innocent. BETTY RIZZO – Female, 18 – 25 (to play high school teen), Any race/ethnicity, Alto Leader of the Pink Ladies: tough, sarcastic, and outspoken but vulnerable. FRENCHY – Female, 18 – 25 (to play high school teen), Any race/ethnicity, Alto A dreamer; good-natured but not too bright. She is heavily made-up and fussy about her appearance, particularly her hair. She can't wait to finish high school to be a beautician. MARTY – Female, 18 – 25 (to play high school teen), Any race/ethnicity, Alto The 'beauty' of the Pink Ladies. She is pretty and looks older than the other girls, but she betrays her real age when she opens her mouth. She tries to act sophisticatedly. JAN – Female, 18 – 25 (to play high school teen), Any race/ethnicity, Alto Funny, loud, compulsive eater and awkward member of the Pink Ladies. Loud and pushy with the girls but shy with the boys. DOODY – Male, 18 – 25 (to play high school teen), Any race/ethnicity The youngest of the guys is a tenor. He is small, boyish, and open, with a disarming smile and a hero-worshipping attitude toward the other guys. He also plays the guitar. KENICKIE – Male, 18 – 25 (to play high school teen), Any race/ethnicity The second in command of the Burger Palace Boys; tough-looking, tattooed, surly, and avoids any show of softness. He has an offbeat sense of humor. Tenor SONNY LATIERRI – Male, 18 – 25 (to play high school teen), Any race/ethnicity, Baritone A member of the Burger Palace Boys, a funny Italian American, he is a braggart and wheeler-dealer who thinks he's a real lady-killer. ROGER – Male, 18 – 25 (to play high school teen), Any race/ethnicity, Tenor The anything-for-a-laugh stocky type of boy, a clown who enjoys winding people up, is full of mischief and always dreams up half-baked schemes and ideas. VINCE FONTAINE – Male, 25 – 30, Any race/ethnicity A typical 'teen audience' disc jockey is slick, egotistical, and fast-talking. He is also a veteran 'Greaser.' CHA-CHA DIGREGORIO – Female, 18 – 25 (to play high school teen), Any race/ethnicity, Alto The best dancer at St. Bernadette's, a loudmouth, wins the dancing competition with Danny. EUGENE FLORCZYK – Male, 18 – 25 (to play high school teen), Any race/ethnicity, Tenor The class valedictorian - physically awkward, with weak eyes and a high-pitched voice. He's a typical 'apple polisher' - smug and pompous but gullible. JOHNNY CASINO – Male, 18 – 25 (to play high school teen), Any race/ethnicity, Tenor All-American, rock-star “greaser” student at Rydell High, whose real name is Clarence. MISS LYNCH – Female, 30-60, Any race/ethnicity A no-nonsense, severe, loud English teacher. PATTY SIMCOX – Female, 18 – 25 (to play high school teen), Any race/ethnicity, Alto A typical cheerleader. She is attractive, athletic, and sure of herself but can be given bursts of disconcerting enthusiasm. She's a bit of a pain, unpopular with the Pink Ladies, and can twirl a baton. TEEN ANGEL – Any gender, 20-30, Any race/ethnicity, Tenor Frenchy's suave and slick guardian angel encourages her to stay in school. Must be a fantastic vocalist. An upper-class ruthless man who stops at nothing to get his way, strong character, and a dominant man; Baritone, sings up to G. E.J. CAPTAIN SMITH – 50s, Male Captain of the Titanic, a white-haired man with strong morals, near to retirement. Has a wealth of experience; character Baritone, commanding voice, sings up to F. FREDERICK BARRETT – 30-35, Male Masculine, handsome, and physically fit man, toned body; lyric Baritenor, sings up to G. Director: Henry Gainza Choreographer: TBD Music Director: TBD First rehearsal: August 4 Open: August 21 Close: September 13 GLORIA ESTEFAN - Female, 25-35 Gloria Estefan is an international singing icon, who began from humble beginnings. Born in Havana, Cuba, she is a latinx woman who is fluent in Spanish. At a young age, she was forced to flee Cuba along with her mother, Gloria, her abuela, Consuelo, and sister, Rebecca. Vocal range: Mezzo-Soprano, Top – F4, Bottom – A3. Role will be understudied. EMILIO ESTEFAN - Male, 25-35 Emilio is the husband and music partner of Gloria Estefan. He is a latinx man from Cuba who is fluent in Spanish. Spanish is his first language and he sometimes struggles to find his words in English. Emilio is confident, handsome, and passionate. Vocal range: Baritone, Top – E4, Bottom – G2. Role will be understudied. GLORIA FAJARDO - Female, 50-60 Gloria Fajardo is the mother of Gloria Estefan. She is a latinx woman from Cuba who is fluent in Spanish. The matriarch of the family, Gloria is brassy and strong willed, with a biting sense of humor. Gloria is very protective over her two daughters, Gloria and Rebecca. Vocal range: Mezzo-Soprano, Top – F5, Bottom – G3. Role will be understudied. CONSUELO GARCIA - Female, 65-75 Consuelo is Gloria’s abuela (grandmother) and one of the biggest supporters of her music. Consuelo acts as Gloria’s stage mom, pushing her to keep pursuing her music career, even when Gloria doubts herself. Consuelo is a latinx woman from Cuba and is fluent in Spanish. Non-singing role. JOSÉ FAJARDO – Male, 50-60 José is the father of Gloria Estefan. He is a loving, caring father who values his family deeply. While living in Cuba, José worked as a police officer for the government. He had to send his wife, Gloria Farjardo and the rest of his family away from Cuba. Vocal range: Baritone, Top – E4, Bottom – G2. Role will be understudied. REBECCA FAJARDO - Female, 18-25 Rebecca is the younger sister of Gloria Estefan. She sees Gloria as a mother figure, even though she is only a few years older. Rebecca is more bold than her older sister. She isn’t shy and is eager to be a part of whatever her sister is doing. Vocal range: Mezzo-Soprano, Top – F5, Bottom – A3. Role will be understudied. PHIL – Male, 30-50 Phil is the record label executive that Gloria and Emilio sign with and works for Warren, the head of the record label. Phil is an opinionated, uncompromising businessman who has a short temper. He is quick to put Gloria and Emilio’s music in.to a box. Non singing role. YOUNG GLORIA - Female Young Gloria portrays Gloria Estefan at a pre-teen age. She is a Latinx girl from Havana, Cuba who is fluent in Spanish. Young Gloria is innocent and shy. This smart, self-reliant girl takes on a lot of caregiving roles in her family and often looks after her sister. Vocal range: Mezzo-Soprano, Top – F5, Bottom – A3. NAYIB/YOUNG EMILIO – Male Nayib is the young son of Gloria and Emilio Estefan. The actor who plays Nayib usually doubles for the role of young Emilio. Nayib is a straightforward, determined child. He has a strong personality and loves to watch his mother perform. Non singing role. ENSEMBLE – 18+ The ensemble for On Your Feet! plays a variety of different characters. This is a dance-heavy ensemble, specifically using Latin dance styles. There are some featured members of the ensemble who have singing or speaking roles. |
